Emirates to double its New Delhi frequency

Emirates Airline has announced that it plans to double its daily services to New Delhi and strengthen its Ahmedabad operation with two additional flights each week, making its total frequency on the India route to 108 weekly flights.

Beginning 30th March, the Dubai-based airline will include one additional flight every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday, to its existing daily service to New Delhi.

During the next phase of expansion, beginning 2nd July, three more flights are to be included with one each Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.

The additional flights will be based on three class configurations, adding over 1800 seats and more than 120 tonnes of cargo capacity per week per direction.

Beginning 30th March, Emirates will also add two flights per week to Ahmedabad, the airlin’s most recent gateway to India, taking its total frequency on the route to eight per week.

The Senior Vice-President of Commercial Operations in West Asia and Indian Ocean, Salem Obaidalla said “New Delhi took center stage in 1985 when Emirates commenced global operations. Two decades later, New Delhi again assumes significance with the Indian operation of Emirates touching a new milestone.”

The airline will operate the additional services with an Airbus A330-200 aircraft in two and three-class configurations.
