Dubai International Airport recorded as the fastest growing airport in 2007

Dubai International Airport has been the world’s fastest growing airport during 2007, in terms of passenger throughput, with 34 million travelers, reveals its operator.

This record growth will find Dubai International Airport in the list of the world’s busiest airports on the Airports Council International (ACI) list.

During 2006, Dubai International Airport was ranked 10th on the list, by handling about 28.78 million passengers. The high growth rate in passenger traffic during 2007 indicates that Dubai International has maintained an average growth rate of more than 15 percent for the sixth consecutive year.

During 2007, August was recorded as the busiest month in terms of passenger figures, while the month of October was the highest growth rate with 29.92 percent. Also, during 2007, it was for the first time in the airport’s history that monthly passenger traffic crossed 3 million thrice during the year, with an average passenger movement of 95,000 per day. The overall growth also resulted in increased aircraft movement at the Dubai International, recording a 9.81 percent increase.
