Dh 105mn beach project in Abu Dhabi to be ready by April
One of the largest tourist beaches in Middle East is coming up in Abu Dhabi, which is expected to boost Abu Dhabis tourism sectors.
Abu Dhabi has already invested Dh 105mn to build the Swimming Beach, which was launched two months ago, and will be completed by April.
Large sand movers have reclaimed sand to build a beach that runs into three kilometers or more along the Gulf, and construction of supporting infrastructure around the project, is in progress. The beach runs adjacent to western seaside of the capital, and is a kilometer opposite to the sea front where there is another massive development undertaking that has been completed.
The real estate project, which includes the Lulu Island and Royal Villas, will surround the parks, road expansions and one of the largest shopping malls in the country.
The contract for the project has been assigned to Gulf Contractors Company, which would eventually include restaurants, cafes, parks, hotel and chalets.
The beach is the latest among the massive development programmes that are happening along the Abu Dhabi’s Corniche. About Dh.2billion has been spent over the last eight years in reshaping the road and the other nearby area.
