A UAE national can now visit Saudi Arabia with an ID card alone

UAE and Saudi Arabia have entered into an agreement to permit the citizens of the two countries to travel between the either nations, using only their ID Cards. This decision has been effective since 2nd June 07.

Geographical and political barriers had earlier prevented such a facility between the two countries. The current agreement signed to this effect, will provide lot of facilities and advantages for both nations.

The Chairman of the Gulf Research Center, Abdulaziz Al Saqir said "The agreement will ease the movement of citizens between the two countries. It will also encourage the commercial activities, exchange of labour and foster social bonds between the two countries."

Such an agreement is also expected to be implemented during a later stage among few other GCC countries and eventually among all Arab nations.
