Tatweer launches Universal Studios Theme Park at Dubailand

A Dh8 billion Universal theme Park, a multi-use 22 million Sq Ft development around Universal Studios, is being launched at Dubailand. The entire project will be completed in three phases, the first phase of which will include the theme park, which is due for completion by 2010.

The Universal City Dubailand will be a residential-cum-family tourism-cum-leisure and entertainment destination. The Executive Chairman of Tatweer, Saeed Al Muntafiq is of the opinion that this project will further help Dubai in climbing up the ladder as the new frontier of global tourism.

The 6.5million Sq.Ft. Universal Studios Dubailand is expected to be the largest theme parks in the world, and apart from the theme park, it will also include residential compounds, offices, retail outlets and hotels.

Universal City Dubailand is expected to consist of more than hundred restaurants, 4000 luxury rooms and a whole variety of retail outlest, in addition to residential area and commercial office space.

For further developing the Universal City Dubailand, Tatweer has signed a franchise deal with the Universal Parks and Resorts, a subsidiary of General Electric’s NBC Universal.
