RAK tourism comes with mega theme park project

A mega theme park with the largest man-made waterfall ever and a wide array of other attractions is expected to come up in Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) shortly.

The WOW RAK theme park covering 120 acres of land, is a multipart entertainment venue, in addition to being a theme park. It is currently under construction at the Khor Qurm region and has been inaugurated yesterday.

WOW RAK is expected to include two adjacent theme parks Planet Earth Theme Park and Ice Land Water Park with a capacity of accommodating 15000 visitors per day, in addition to an entertainment plaza, resort and a shopping mall of 12,000 sq.mts.

The water park is expected to be all set for public view by May 2008, and the entire theme park will be completed in the next two years.

According to Ras Al Khaima crown prince, Dr.Khater Massad, who is also the CEO of RAK Investment Authority, the project is considered a part of the RAK Government’s strategy to transform the emirate as the region’s premier tourism destination. He also added that they are already in the process of enhancing the hotel infrastructure in the emirate and are working towards construction of more such mega theme park projects.
