Emmar Raffles International School registration begins

The three schools in Umm Suqeim have been granted licence by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KDHA).They have been authorised to offer education from kindergarten to A Level and diplomas.

Dr Abdulla Al Karam, the Director-General of KDHA, said the start of the registration process is part of the authority’s plan to enhance the quality of education.

Raffles International School will follow the muchacclaimed Singapore model, where emphasis is on delivering an integrated campus.

The approach assures the all-round development of students from nursery to tertiary levels with a balanced focus on academic courses, person ality development, sports and cultural activities.

Emaar will open five such schools in Dubai. Apart from the three at Umm Suqeim and two at Al Barsha, there will be four nurseries and kindergartens located at Emaar’s master-planned communities: The Springs, The Lakes and Emirates Hills.

The admissions, open to all nationalities, will be based on an interview and assessment of English Language and mathematics. The schools will open in September 2007.

Initially registration will be for kindergarten to grade eight, which can be made at an special centre set up at Hayya Meadows Village at The Meadows – part of Emaar’s Emirates Living community or online at www.RafflesIS.com or by calling toll-free 800 RAFFLES (800 723 3537).
