Emirates Airline to recruit 8500 new employees within two years

Emirates Airline, the largest passenger carrier in the world, is on a hiring spree and has announced that it is likely to recruit over 8500 new employees within next two years.

The Executive Vice President of the group, Adel Al Redha, said that the company requires more than 8500 employees, pilots, technicians, stewards to operate about 50 new aircrafts within next two years.

The company, along with planning expansions during the coming year, also has a strategic plan in place for recruitments. The airline is keen on nationalisation, and plans to increase the number of nationals employed by the airline, by offering positions such as pilots and engineers. The airline will also hire qualified cadres from other markets.

Currently only 12percent of the airline’s staff constitute pilots, engineers and technicians. There are a total of 360 Emirati pilots, while engineers and technicians make a total of 370. This number may be increased by 20 to 25 percent, Al Redha said.

The pilots will usually have to undergo four years training involving three phases. Currently, there are 70 pilots and 60 engineers and technicians undergoing training, while the total staff strength in the Emirates Group currently is 50,000.
