UAE is sixth in the world for quality infrastructure
UAE ranks the sixth in the world for quality infrastructure. It is also the 23rd in the Global Competitiveness Index (GCI) amongst 133 countries, as per the report by Swiss based World Economic Forum (WEF).
In terms of competitiveness, the UAE came before Ireland, Malaysia, Brazil, Italy, India, Russia and China. The ranking reflects the efforts exerted by the UAE government and the Ministry of Public Works about the advanced infrastructure that spurs UAE position as regional and world business hub.
The UAE posses advanced infrastructure in public premises, ports, roads, aviation and electricity, the report said.
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, in his statement to the media said that advanced ranking in the UAE in the field of infrastructure is a motivation to the ministry and work team to further boost their performance and implement strategic projects.
