Indian labour contract attestations streamlined online

A new web-based system to streamline attestation of papers pertaining to labour contracts of Indian workers will be soon launched in UAE, revealed a top diplomat.

The Indian Ambassador to the UAE, M.K. Lokesh, said that the new online system currently under trial, will enable centralization of attestation services required by potential employers and workers. This will link the Indian missions with the UAE Labour Ministry and the Protector General of Emigrants in India.

All Indian workers need emigration clearance from Indian authorities before arriving in UAE. As per the current system, potential employers visit the Indian missions to get the labour documents attested to secure emigration clearance from Indian authorities. However, there was no way to check if any discrepancy persists. The new system will streamline recruitment and benefit workers and employers.

But, attestations for consular services such as marriage, birth, death and educational certificates will remain the same.
