Dubai RTA unveils three new Metro stations

The Dubai RTA (Roads and Transport Authority) on Saturday unveiled three new stations on the Red Line of Dubai Metro, making the total number of operational stations to 21 in number.

Speaking about the new launch, Perham Younes Peyman, Director of Marketing and Communications, RTA appreciated the launch and said that there is no such parallel anywhere in the world.

With considerable increase in metro stations, the RTA expects to draw new segment of commuters, considering the increase in population and developments surrounding the stations at Al Quoz, Garhoud and World Trade Center.

Peyman revealed that RTA aims to broaden the base with these stations. The World Trade Center already draws about a million visitors for its various exhibitions during the year. The GIGCO station at Garhoud is surrounded by several schools, posh residential communities and showrooms.

According to Peyman, the RTA is most excited about the Noor Islamic Bank station at Al Quoz.

It shows8 the attractiveness and value that Dubai Metro brings in during the long run. The Noor Islamic Bank, World Trade Center and GIGCO stations together are likely to add 13,000 to 14,000 more metro users daily. With about 21 stations operational now, Dubai Metro hopes to attract about 140,000 users every day.
